General Manager and Art Director

This inspired young woman became the General Manager and Art Director of the Lviv Regional Academic Puppet Theatre in 2017. Ulyana has extensive and diverse educational background: she is drama theatre director (Kyiv Karpenko-Karyi National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television), textile artist (Lviv Trush College of Decorative and Applied Arts), and graphic artist and book designer (Ukrainian Academy of Printing). In 2007 – 2010, she was Production Director with the Lviv Yuri Drohobych Regional Academic Theatre, where she produced Contenders by Mykola Manokhin, Town Musicians of Bremen, and Hatter’s Castle by A. J. Cronin.

Between 2007 and 2016, Ulyana was the Art Director of Tustan Medieval Culture Festival. In 2008, she helped put together Beskydy Singer-Songwriter Festival and Heroic Tustan Festival and curated the 2008, 2014 and 2015 editions of Zashkiv Festival. Between 2010 and 2017, she also operated as a host and director of the Art Space Workshop.

Ulyana’s creative portfolio includes a number of plays, including docudramas Twenty Years, The Border, puppet plays Puppet Nativity Play, Why the Cat Hasn’t Eaten the Mouse, Prince Daniel and His Jester Olelko (based on a short story by Yuriy Vynnychuk), and drama plays: The Magic Potion of Lviv Pharmacist Jan Pipes-Poratyński, Golden Love.

Ulyana’s projects include: Musical Kupala Night in the Tustan Fortress, Viennese balls in the Scientists Club building (formerly – the Nobles Casino).

Public activism record:

Ulyana Moroz hosts an annual Christmas collection to support various charities.

2015 – fundraiser campaign to raise funds for a vehicle for the Ukrainian military involved in the Anti-terror Operation in East Ukraine;
2013 – 2014 – coordination of stage operations during Euromaidan protests in Lviv;
2004 – honorary fellowship of the Student Fraternity of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy;
2003 – coordinator of the Student Council of Kyiv Karpenko-Karyi National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television;
1995 – 2003 – member and, later, a leader of Spadshchyna (Heritage) NGO;
1997 – 2002 – reinstated and managed the student fraternity of the Lviv Trush College;

The motto Ulyana has chosen for herself reflects her stance: “If you want to make a change, go out and make it.”
